Airbnb is a mission-driven company dedicated to helping create a world where anyone can belong anywhere. It takes a unified team committed to our core values to achieve this goal. Airbnb's various functions embody the company's innovative spirit and our fast-moving team is committed to leading as a 21st century company.
About Finance Technology
The Finance Technology team manages a complex and innovative ecosystem of products and applications, and is responsible for driving key outcomes for all stakeholders who rely on Airbnb's Financial Information. Some of these include a) ensuring taxes are charged, collected, remitted and reported correctly b) manage all things cash (reconciliation, hedging, treasury), c) ensure every transaction is accounted correctly and ready for audit and investor reporting, d) provide critical data and metrics, e) provide top-to-bottom insurance protection for guests and hosts, and f) provide critical enterprise applications to employees (e.g, ERP, Equity). Everything we do is exemplified due to the scale - hundreds of currencies, thousands of tax authorities, millions of users, and billions of dollars (and transaction volume). Our approach is to build platform solutions to help the company grow by bringing new markets and demographics, be compliant, optimize costs and enable new business initiatives to thrive
About Tax Platform
Tax policy across the globe is constantly in flux, and Airbnb has to adapt to these changes quickly. Airbnb has collected and remitted 4B+ tourist taxes in over 30,000 jurisdictions. We also provide tax help and tools across 200+ countries, helping local economies and hosts. Tax regulations are one of the major pain points to hosting and are continuing to increase in complexity.
Airbnb is constantly evolving and the Tax Platform also works in partnership with the business teams to help deliver new and exciting initiatives. The Tax Platform is a critical part of the growth of Airbnb’s service offerings.
The Tax Platform team within Finance Technology is beginning a journey to rethink and re-architect how we can solve problems of our broader stakeholders - guests, hosts and jurisdictions. This team owns product domains that span indirect taxes (value added taxes, transient occupancy), direct taxes (tax withholding), invoices, tax id collection, income reporting among many other things.
As a Product Manager on Tax Platform, you will build products that enable a great user experience while meeting our regulatory, business and tax obligations. In collaboration with Tax, Policy and other Product teams, you will help in defining the strategy for Tax products.
