Summary of the role:

The Online Travel Group at Amadeus North America is responsible for the North American large OTA and online Travel Media customer segment. 

The Account Manager OTA is fully accountable for the commercial relationship with a small portfolio of assigned strategic OTA customers. As such he/she will be responsible for securing the long-term success of the partnership with the assigned OTAs.

 

In this role you’ll:

  • Manage Amadeus business relationship with assigned accounts. Full commercial ownership and relationship management including (i) develop and maintain relationship at all levels within the customer organization; (ii) understand customer needs and translate these into strategic IT and operational opportunities; (iii) meet sales goals including business retention, business growth and long-term profitability for Amadeus in distribution and in IT solutions, and (iv) manage change in the customer relationship.
  • Negotiate and close all commercial agreements for assigned accounts ensuring for each deal customer satisfaction and optimum profitability for Amadeus. Build and work with internal bid teams as needed to create proposals and liaise with legal and finance to validate proposals and close deals as required.                                                                   
  • Ensure full alignment with the Amadeus organization to secure customer satisfaction and to meet sales goals including Product Management, Legal, Finance, IT Support, and another relevant team. Implement clear account governance as required per account with Amadeus regional and central organizations and regular internal account alignment calls with all parties involved.
  • For each assigned account, maintain strategic Account Development Plan and associated budget forecasting to deliver business development objectives. Monitor customer performance internally (internal reporting) and externally (by organizing regular joint business review meetings).                                                           

 

About the ideal candidate:

  • Education: Business degree (MBA preferred)
  • Relevant Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of recent travel technology and/or online industry experience in a leading multinational or startup company.
  • Business Understanding: Thorough understanding of current players and trends in the travel tech and/or online travel space
  • Skills:   
    • Computing: Strong business acumen: The role requires the ability to build long-term, value-driven partnerships with sophisticated OTA customers while defending the commercial and strategic interests of Amadeus
    • Languages: Fluent in English
    • Specific Knowledge: Strong business development mindset: Ability to develop and implement a long-term vision and growth plan while creating strategic customer partnerships. Secure, then develop deep partnerships and drive change.
      • Very strong communication, negotiation, and inter-personal skills up to C-level
    • Other: Driven, self-motivated, innovative mind-set, thrives in a fast-paced, complex, sophisticated, and dynamic customer environment
