Director, Business Analytics and Strategy

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.

Over the last 25 years, Priceline has developed into one of North America's largest online travel companies.  As a part of our business, we have a B2B brand called Priceline Partner Solutions. In the B2B business, we look to expand our footprint and grow our travel market share, distributing our capabilities to other third parties.  The Director of Business Analytics and Strategy will be critical in driving that mission.  This role will sit on our Commercial team and report directly to the Vice President of Commercial. The successful candidate will manage a team responsible for reporting on our business and developing the strategies we employ to achieve our objectives.  This role will be able to shape and influence a high-growth company with high visibility.   The role will collaborate with every part of the organization at Priceline. Developing long-term, internal and external relationships will be critical to success.  

In this role, you will get to:

  • Be a leader – lead the Business Analytics and Strategy team of people and the function at PPS. Help lead our Business and Commercial Strategy at PPS.

  • Set direction – Hold a place on our Commercial Leadership Team and set the path of our business.

  • Set the Plan – Work with our Financial Planning and Analysis group in Finance to help forecast and report on the business to the Executive Leadership Team at Priceline.

  • Develop Strategy – Work with the Priceline Partner Solutions leadership team to develop strategies for our overall business. Answering how we should best use our resources, what opportunities we should pursue, and playing a vital role in our post-acquisition integration strategy.

  • Be an owner – serve as the owner of our Business Analytics and drive growth by analyzing performance and understanding trends and competitors.

  • Take action – work across the organization and with our partners (e.g., airlines) to prioritize initiatives to grow the business; help define solutions within the context of the Priceline organization and technology stack.

  • Set direction – define metrics and KPIs for teams to work toward; align on quarterly goals for Priceline Partner Solutions.

  • Sell – sell your ideas and priorities for the business internally and externally. Build the business cases to support the initiatives that matter.

  • Drive results – Work with account managers to understand and support clients’ opportunities and initiatives. 

  • Build relationships – represent the client’s needs internally and Priceline’s views externally while building relationships to maximize effectiveness.

Who you are:

  • Hold a BA/BS degree.; MBA preferred

  • Has an exceptional track record with at least 8+ years of analyzing, research, or consulting experience analyzing performance metrics.

  • Experience in a top e-commerce, travel, or related company is a plus.

  • Proven track record of translating business problems into an analytical framework, developing plans for answering complex problems and delivering data-driven insights, and executing those insights in a cross-functional environment

  • Hands-on, extensive knowledge and experience working with large databases, data mining, and business intelligence tools (SQL, Python, Tableau, Etc.)

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts simply to senior leadership

  • Proven business operator and strong leader

  • Fun, highly competitive person

  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills, with the ability to influence internally and externally a wide range of audiences and both business and technical personnel

  • Proven growth driver;  ability to accurately identify and attack growth opportunities

  • Highly proficient in presentation writing tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Slides) and Excel.

  • Close attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects at a time and successfully able to meet deadlines

  • Extensive experience developing KPIs, reports, and success measures while using these to drive performance and growth

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills; able to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and formulate innovative and practical action plans to resolve issues

  • Must be a strong team member who thrives in situations requiring collaboration across broad and diverse organizational functions and individuals.
