We’re looking for a seasoned creative brand marketer to build a community around flight-free activism and beautiful slow travel stories. This person can balance art with science - a creative with an operational mind or a marketer with creative capabilities. Byway is a small, fast-moving startup so having a growth mindset and being someone who thrives in a fast paced changing environment is crucial.
This person will report to our CMO and collaborate closely with our CEO and our wider marketing, ops, and tech teams. The role is remote, with two days a month in our London office alongside the rest of the team; we’re looking for someone who has the ability to direct their own work and act as an owner.
We’re taking on climate change by building the first tech platform for flight-free holidays. We help people experience the joy of journeying through lesser-known parts of the UK and Europe by train, boat and bus, and are proud to be a certified B Corporation.
Founded in March 2020, we’re backed by Innovate UK, and have raised £2.2M from incredible investors. Our organic growth has been significant and sustained since launch, mostly thanks to press, from the Times to the Guardian. Since January 2022, our first paid marketing investments and partnerships have seen growth surge 7X year on year.
Own our omni-channel marketing campaign launches. Align our marketing calendar to travel and sustainability trends and project manage campaigns in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Be the daily face of our brand by defining our social media presence. Foster a story-led and activist approach, commissioning and curating photos and videos, designing, editing and copywriting all posts and uplifting our community’s travel stories.
Support our Growth Lead with content creation for email, paid, landing pages and other performance marketing channels.
Support our PR Lead with press releases and media alerts, co-creating buzz-worthy trips and sustainability messages that get us talked about.
Content marketing experience with a portfolio of social media accounts showcasing a trend-hunters’ eye for superb visual design, video editing and journalistic approach to copywriting that delivers community growth.
A desire to be at the forefront of brand marketing with strong examples of end to end campaign management experience.
Good understanding of marketing technologies, including CMSs and CRMs.
Ability to manage your own time based on your goals without close management.
Belief in our mission and a passion for sustainability and/or slow travel.

£30,000 - £35,000 p.a. plus equity
